The tree's been up for a while, but I was finally able to finish decorating with a few stockings, a Yule Goat, tabletop items, and of course....my tribute to "Die Hard".

Em on Mastadon: You might think it's not a priority with all the doom happening around. But the erosion of privacy rights is directly linked to the erosion of human rights, and the loss of democracy. Privacy makes it safe for you to discuss, to organize, to resist, and to be your true self. This is exactly why fascists and authoritarians are attacking it. If we lose privacy, we lose everything else. We have to defend it with all we've got. Privacy rights are a priority.

Tall pine trees surrounded by deciduous golden leaves. A shelf of mushrooms!! I have no idea what kind, I just found them pretty. Nature's sigil. White bark with a natural etching that looks like a heart with the Roman Numeral 1. It's surrounded by green moss. I call this Hekate's Tree. A large tree, with roots aboveground, but also with roots underneath reaching the Underworld. Atop are two trunks splitting upwards in a V formation. It sits at the crossroads of three trail paths: left, center, and the right (not pictured).

Staycation perk: Able to hike at a local state park midweek with ample parking.

I missed October's changing of the colors as I had to wait for my new State Park Parking Pass. But today everything was misty and green. A stump sporting a wild fern hairdo. Towering, bare trees covered in green moss. A path leads forward through tall, moss covered trees. Crunchy leaves border the path as you step into this liminal space. You might see a decaying tree trunk with a mossy outgrowth. I see a nature spirit, head down, with its right shoulder and arm pushing itself out of the trunk....frozen in time. A massive tree trunk, roughly 5 ft in diameter, with two man-made holes. I see a face and the burrowed hole is its mouth saying, "Helloooooooooo".

I watched TROLL three years ago and it was better than it had any right to be.

TROLL2 (I could've sworn it was titled TROLLS last month) is just as good. Yes, it's Godzilla vs Ghidorah but with trolls and that's why this formula works. Utter cheesy fun.

Netflix added 1 hour Yule Log/fireplace ambiences styled after Wednesday and Stranger Things.

There's apparently a K-Pop Demon version too, but I couldn't get into that movie.

Today has been wonderful; a nature walk & then a couple hours of witchy YT videos while snuggling my cat. The Nordic Witch, who has ADHD, uses a Witch Task Jar filled with spontaneous tasks when she feels bored.

I extended my route and did an hour and fifteen minute nature walk. 🎉 It felt marvelous to stretch these legs while taking in the birds, a hawk screech, and many tall trees.
