Somewhat.
The reasons behind the taste of Japanese audiences is too complex to accurately describe in a single social media post.
However, they seem to prefer uplifting and more lighthearted films that help distract from reality since there's often so much stress and pressure in Japanese society.

Which I found very interesting as western audiences seem to thrive off and admire "cutting" entertainment that reveals the more hidden undesirable aspects of society. It feels like his subject matter, directorial style and stories found more popularity in the west.

While Satoshi Kon has a very large following and fanbase in the west, I've read and spoken with Japanese natives that say he was very niche and only mildly popular with JP audiences. Many natives found his films a bit too disturbing or revealing of the darker unpleasant side of Japanese society.

Absence of proof fallacy. A thing is not so simply because there is no proof against it.
Again YOU are free to interpret things how YOU want. I'm not stopping you.
However when I, and most people, are trying to protect ourselves, we are not thinking about "feminist" ideas from OUR perspective.

Correct, because nothing in the game was framed in specific "feminist" ideology. Virtually no one discussed it as such, not the creators and writers, not the audience, nor the gaming community at large.
Most people do not view their own freedom as an issue of "feminism".
You're free to though.

A better question is: Did the SH writers and developers intend feminist messaging in their games?
and
Did virtually anyone in the SH audience consider the games to be feminist prior to 2025?
The answer to both questions is: No.
But you're free to interpret things how you want.

It isn't... but the incessant far leftists here on Bluesky want to use revisionism to create a narrative that the Silent Hill developers intended to put "feminist" messaging in their games, when they clearly didn't.
But they're free to interpet things as they want to push their own ideals.

I believe there are some misguided people out there who were raised in conservative Christian families and never learned how to accept LGBTQ people who DO love their kids, so they just tell them whatever BS they've been fed by their own parents and peers.
