If you aren't sure where to put shadows or highlights, just put 'em wherever. It's easier to tell when it looks wrong than to figure out how to do it right in one go!

Maybe you could experiment with having the art be exclusive to Patreon for a set amount of time, and then post it to Bluesky later for the extra engagement and possible exposure of your Patreon?
Or maybe even a set monthly goal above which all new art is posted free?
