Yes it is, and it's happening at all levels. Locally the grift may be less overt, but it's like being frogs in a pot, slowly being heated up...

Oh.

They carry less burden, multiple start ups are working in the space, including distributing data centers right to the edge, and the distribution would create additional IT trades job supporting maintenance... but that doesn't make the sweet big business dollars while sacrificing the community, so...

And I say this as one of the Federal Government's former top data geeks... LOL

There are also ways to improve dev. so you rely less on monolithic centers with huge load draws but better distribute load needs/reduce burden/use less resources... But then big business wouldn't make as much money at Community expense, would they?
