Fish passage biologist by day, fickle illustrator by night (and weekends)
There is a territorial war between the local crows and scrub jays, and our house seems to be the epicenter. The yard is basically an avian equivalent of the Five Corners from Gangs of New York.

(Always keeping it topical with my references)

Japanese Folklore: Kappa

Used this as a vehicle to test out some of the new #procreate brushes. Mostly used the guache and watercolor brushes.

I know this illustration had a bit of the AI yellow hue, but I was trying to make it look like old parchment.

Throwback Thursday!

My cat Onyx ("Nyx") loves to chase light reflections off of phones, mirrors, etc. We call it, "hunting Tinkerbells".

“All we say to America is, ‘Be true to what you said on paper.’ …

Somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly.
Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech.
Somewhere I read of the freedom of the press.
Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right.”

Happy Holidays everybody! And happy New Year!

A couple of years ago I drew a winter Peanuts parody with Anna and I in place of Chuck and Snoopy. Subsequently I drew the rest of the seasons, too

Kane's revenge!

This is inspired by a throwaway joke from an episode of Make Some Noise on Dropout. I cannot, for the life of me, remember which episode, or who said it. (I watched a bunch of episodes, trying to find it, but no such luck). Shout out if you know it so I can properly attribute.

North American Elk, aka Wapiti (Cervus canadensis). Because I felt like drawing a critter, and an elk seemed seasonally appropriate.

Bird life list illustration. An acorn woodpecker. I finally saw one at the Scatter Creek Wildlife Area in Washington during the summer.

I have been bad about posting on here, but want to get back into the habit (how do we quit Meta for good!?).

Anna and I have been brainstorming geriatric graffiti tags for a few months, and these were my favorites.

Did you know that "Trump" is slang for "fart" in England?

I can't believe I drew this five years ago, and here we are again: living through another entirely preventable/predictable disaster triggered by the sentient flatulence currently residing in the White House.

Ben Grimm aka The Thing

I drew this straight after the first teaser images came out. Pretty happy with the design.

Among all of the stupid things that humans do, driving pangolins to the brink of extinction so we can harvest their scales really tops the charts. Especially since humans already grow their own handy and sustainable source of keratin.
