Wooden figure now presented as St George in St Aposteln, Cologne. C15. Originally at the high altar of Weidenbach monastery opposite St Pantaleon, where it represented the Archangel Michael: his wings were lost during restoration in the 1950s. Treading unkindly on the little devil's weak spots.

Seems as much that with ritual changes with the Book of Common Prayer a north door was no longer generally necessary and so often closed for practical reasons?
