The thing is, the training is non-trivial and you can't really write it out of the equation. There are real costs with this technology,and we should be focusing on whether those are worth it or not.

There's a lot more nuance to the conversation than what's being said here. Data centers have been around for decades and are pretty essential for our way of life.

The real issue is AI and the unprecedented amount of resources it takes to run, and that's why data centers are under scrutiny now
