Benign neglect was the norm in ‘70s Australia. My 1st history lecture where extensive background knowledge was assumed felt daunting but also surprisingly empowering. For once it was my responsibility to get up to speed. Ditto academic advice. Smoothing the way doesn’t develop agency or resilience.

But now I’m curious. Is there a list of topics they plan on covering? I can’t even begin to imagine what it might include.

I THOUGHT you looked a bit different. Also the stories were made out to be truly explosive — Miller spitting, melting down etc and Trump going crazi(er) but the content was much more subdued. I’m wondering if it was to detract from your usual trustworthiness by making it seem ‘you’ exaggerated?

Well said! It would have been the go-to system for social organisation in prehistoric times and would have worked pretty well in small communities before population growth enabled feudalism and other hierarchies to develop. What an ignoramus.
