Other suspects were implicated by each other, and Lyndarr was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Years later, the real perpetrator took full responsibility for the crime, and other co-defendants recanted. In February 2025, Lyndarr was exonerated and released from prison.

Acacia Lyndarr was wrongfully convicted of murder, arson, and burglary in 2012 in Colorado Springs. Police suspected her after she was found cashing stolen checks from the victim, but Lyndarr had received the checks from the real perpetrator. 🧵
