if you grow and grow and grow but have to feel scared about how a huge part of that audience will reject the real you, you have built a fragile thing you will never be able to feel safe within

I say artist when I actually mean artists. Not the first time I’ve seen this happened; there’s folks I know in real life who vented about this happening to them.

And I wish people would knock it off.

Wow! It’s like... the artist drew art for themselves and for those that they hold dear in their lives. And it's not that every piece of art out there is for you or will cater to you.
