January 29, 2026 at 10:11 AM

More general task demands (for example, whether information needs to be integrated or simply selected) are maintained in a sustained and abstract manner throughout most of the process.

➡️In contrast, more specific details, such as whether the stimulus is an animal, appear only transiently.
January 29, 2026 at 9:58 AM
To understand this process, the researchers recorded the brain’s electrical activity using electroencephalography (EEG) in 40 healthy participants.

The results show that the brain does not treat all information equally 👇

🧩 The Cognitive Puzzle

Following an instruction like "if you see a dog in a green circle, press the right button" is harder than it looks. The brain must break down the sentence, identify relevant info and prepare to act before the stimulus even appears.

The study shows that even though female sexuality is more normalized today, persistent biases still reproduce gender hierarchies—even when evaluating a private behavior.

Each participant evaluated one character on variables such as sexual satisfaction, charisma, reliability, achievement, or social skills. They also assessed participants’ adherence to the sexual double standard and social dominance orientation.
January 22, 2026 at 1:58 PM
To explore this, researchers from the CIMCYC presented 292 Spanish cisgender adults (146 men and 146 women) with two fictional characters: Emilio and Elena, both described as people who masturbate.

Masturbation is common and natural, but not everyone is evaluated the same way when they do it. Social and gender norms influence how we view male and female sexuality—even in such private contexts.
January 22, 2026 at 1:58 PM
