I’m not very knowledgeable on metal (one of the reasons I asked), but to me whether or not the drums sound good is just about the most important aspect of production. If I don’t physically feel them when I turn up the volume, forget about it.

I feel like this peaked in movies around the late ‘90s/early 00’s thanks to Mamet, Fincher, and Shyamalan in particular, but the market eventually corrected itself when the twists-on-twists became overly commonplace. Hopefully the same thing happens in literature.

I am currently doing a lesson on robot fiction with the high school sci-fi class I teach, and I feel blessed to be able to show them this video tomorrow.

A nearby sit-down restaurant where you have to scan a QR code to order through an app rather than just talk to the server who will eventually bring your order to you made me absolutely apoplectic. The servers, understandably, also hated it.
