I'm curious... I have followed Jesus for about 60 years and have never owned a study Bible. I think it's too easy to find the commentary words more interesting that the Divine Words.

In the midst of a chaotic world, what brings peace? For me it's definitely finding a peaceful place and bask in the presence of God. Sometimes with worship music. Sometimes with a candle.

If you've never read through the whole Bible, may I suggest you begin with the New Testament? That gives you the 4 gospels, the stories of Jesus. And then the Old Testament.
Start with Matthew, and each day begin where you left off. Just like every other book you read. 😄
