I have had the experience in my personal life of someone going through mental illness and other struggles not remembering conversations we had, and it was frustrating for me because I felt like they weren't listening, but that was not the case -- memory just doesn't work as well under strain. 7/

I had neighbours who swore they only wore shoes in the house when they were leaving and forgot stuff. I said you must forget a lot of stuff because it goes on for 30 mins every time you leave. Only apartment I ever lived in just a year

Been thinking a lot about how the pandemic fundamentally broke our brains and our collective response; in a way it reminds me of the frenzied excess of the 1920s as people reeled from WWI and the influenza pandemic, and the hard fall we took at the end of that decade is coming for us this time too.
