Retired English teacher, loves to study the Bible, reads constantly, and adore my grands! And coffee. Always coffee. With chocolate.
In Colorado enjoying the fresh, non-humidity infested air. Visited Leadville yesterday and met Brody—a trim, yellow lab that insists on carrying his own leash in his mouth. Not sure if he or his owner folds it up so neatly in his mouth. He made me smile and I scratched his butt in appreciation.

Dealing with the realities that come with hospice care—only palliative care. Is my 87-yr-old dad really at this point in his life? And mom having TIA’s after a major stroke in April—need the Lord to calm my soul.

So when family times get tense cause your mama had a stroke and your dad is in late stage Parkinson’s, it’s great to have your oldest son drive you and teach you about economics. I feel smarter just being around him❤️

If we do not expect of those who lead that they be temperate, prudent, honest, patient, generous, altruistic, faithful, reputable, and wise, we expect too little of them—and of ourselves.

Jen Wilkin always says truth well. There isn’t a demon around every corner—there is a broken world all around us. The process of sin is often like David’s when he took Bathsheba—Look+ Want+ Take= Sin.
Not every struggle amounts to a "spiritual attack." Sometimes the enemy is ourselves or the world.

Always blaming the Devil can keep us from seeing our fuller battle for holiness.

Many of you know we've been in Senator Mitt Romney's corner since 2005. I've never been prouder of that decision than now.

DO NOT forget what prayer can do. Amid all else God’s calling you to do or speak, never for a moment forget that nothing’s more powerful than earnest audacious persistent prayer. The devil—yes, boomer here said the devil, the ever-real prince of vilest darkness—hopes we’ll lose confidence in prayer.

I won’t miss February. Bring on March madness and the beginnings of spring.

As a senior adult Christian, I miss Sunday School!! Going to folks’ homes at night doesn’t work well for older adults and churches seem to be cutting us out of meaningful Bible study by relegating us to game parties, quilting, or bus trips! Oy vey! Bring it back!

Some mornings I can’t watch the news even with my Nespresso in hand. I want to throw ashes on my head and tear my clothing.

DOGE recommended firing workers at:

-FDA, which oversees Neuralink

-FAA, which oversees SpaceX

-USAID, which probed Starlink

-CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X.

"Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

There is going to come a time in the very near future where the only way to resolve this is for every non-MAGA media company to band together and simply refuse to walk into the presser or attend the event. Because he wants the coverage more than anything else. Divided you fall.

I love my parents. I hate watching them deteriorate. Aging isn’t pretty and it isn’t comfortable, but the love is there and that is enough.

I’m too old for Kendrick Lamar. I’d like a James Taylor performance much better.

Confident trust in God in the middle of chaos. Believing and hoping in Christ while watching our country self-destruct. I’m huddled in my refuge!

Refuge: a haven. A protected space. Hebrews 6:18-20. “..we who have fled for refuge might have some encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us…” Jesus. His promise. So much more to uncover!

How do I take refuge in God? I love the imagery of a secure place, guarded by Yahweh. But what does that imagery mean IRL—day-to-day? Going to meditate on it this week.

Reading Psalm 18 this morning. No church since hubster is ill. “For you save a humble people, but the haughty you bring down. For it is you who light my lamp; for the LORD my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.
