Here be my take on an Eldes redesign for the sake of pure funsies, and character design exploration!

The main elements I wanted to emphasize in this redesign was pattern consistency, and shape language.

Here be my take on an Eldes (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness) redesign for the sake of pure funsies, and character design exploration!

The mask idea stemmed from Cosmicssubway's sketch of an Eldes redesign from a couple years back!

I just personally thought that the mask was an EXCELLENT choice for Eldes, considering his more quiet, and reserved nature, personality wise.

The main elements I wanted to emphasize in this redesign was pattern consistency, and shape language. Mainly focused on sharp edges / angular shapes to make his silhouette imposing, while also adding in some soft curves, and shapes to accentuate his hidden gentleness as a person.

The patterns on his sleeves are now the only recurring pattern that stays throughout his design, as a means of simplifying his clothing patterns.

Meanwhile on the left corner of the illustration, Eldes is sobbing in absolutely fear, as Excella Gionne curtly revels in his despair upon watching his own father, Greevil, actively suffer by the hands (or tendrils) of Wesker.
