although to be fair, I think activitypub (or at the very least mastodon) also requires your old account to continue to exist for a while after migrating, so it's probably not a complete showstopper to have to maintain the old did:plc doc

yeah I saw that but I think that would still require the did:plc to continue to exist (to point the alsoKnownAs record to the did:web), so my specific use-case is slightly different from that

to add to the thought: extreme foresight would also include strategies against abuse, like domain hijacking which did:web is particularly vulnerable to. kinda curious if you'd also plan for did:webvh support if atproto ever supports that

would have been nice to have a simpler did:plc-to-web migration at the time I made my account, even though I'm not sure how migration would work in my case where I wanted to delete my did:plc entirely
