I think it's more about the sprawling ecosystem of tags that's been built on top of the gender tags, like "clothed male" "feral male" "male penetrated" and so on do forth. (I should emphasize I DO NOT ACCEPT THAT EXCUSE, though, as I firmly believe all those extra tags have no business existing)

Like, is it stupid? Yes. But it's a *nuanced* stupid. And they did introduce a new sets of tags since to account at least somewhat for trans and other non purely visual stuff (e.g. incest). Mind you I've been banned since 2017 so I can't say I'm *super* au fait of what's really been going on.

coming back on this, it's a catch-22 overall. The policy was implemented to account for cub/cublike content. And if you're going to be banning people over mistagging (and they are VERY trigger-itchy on the negative records, let me tell you), you have to be consistent across the board.

they apply basically the exact same content restrictions as FA, so clearly that doesn't give them much more extra leeway.

I can't say I'm seeing anything they're doing much different, much less any better than any other site around, but then I made a point of deleting everything like... two rebuilds ago.

I will always be bitter about Yiffstar wanting SO BADLY to be just another generic gallery website that in the process it essentially destroyed itself as an actual useful place to post stories too. Like "yiffstar-era stories are literally illegible on the newest version of sofurry" destroyed
