Thank you all for the work that you do preserving and conserving our brilliant and beautiful oceans. Despite everything going on everywhere else, your work at least gives me hope that one day we might have a chance at properly caring for our wonderful world and all that inhabit it.

We're going to be seeing more and more deep fake images going forward and I'm genuinely not sure what to do at this point. The fact that it can be used by anyone for any reason means such a tool is frightening in its potential.

AFAIK Gemini can only positively ID a photo if its the original one generated from nanobanana without any additional alteration.
This is a brand new field for many and we're constantly learning how bad it can be when trying to determine true fact and fiction. I genuinely hate having to investigate

I'm not an AI expert, no. I'm just somebody extremely concerned that this fascist regime will use any and all excuses possible to let a murderer walk free. There are many photos of his man with a mask on at the scene and disturbingly few of him without.

That just means it doesn't bear the watermark that nanobanana uses when it generates images. AI has failed to detect generative AI photos many times. We cannot risk false information leading to a failure to convict. There are enough facial features from confirmed original photos in order to identify

AI generation cannot and should not be used anywhere and by anyone, especially where critical facts and knowledge can mean the difference between conviction and freedom. These are the tools of those trying to oppress and murder us.
