Ottawa addiction worker. Former researcher.

Father who is very, very concerned about his son's future in face of the climate crisis and Canada's complete carbon corruption.

And occasional videogame, comicbook and Superman content, because, yeah...
This is my new mug. I love it.

For fucks sake. This is blatantly a staggering corruption of a nation's political system. I'm sure the NYT will be all over this.

The racism is only going to get worse. The oppression is only going to get worse. A large part of America's population delights at white supremacy. Your major media refuses to address it. Bari Weiss doesn't give a shit about white supremacy. Fox News thrives on it.

This doesn't end peacefully.

The southern states have remained staggeringly corrupt since the civil war. Conservatives happily impoverish their citizens and cripple their education systems and the people are either too poor to resist or delighted that at least Black people get fucked over worse. They want to do this everywhere.

Every person who supports segregationist monuments is a racist piece of shit. Hegseth is one. Most South Baptists and Mormons are racist. Read how they talk amongst themselves on social media. The hate should have been painfully excised from these people. It was not. Their racism metastasized.

Trump is running a white supremacist administration. People like this shut up briefly after the civil rights struggle of the 60s. But they remained racist. They taught their racism to their children. They organized. And now they control the Republican party.

And a weak, timorous press lets them.

This should appear on all future American currency. One way or another, they have to always be aware of what they have done.

Poilievre supports the illegal assault on Venezuela. Of course he does. Poilievre is a traitorous, quisling loser who would betray Canada as soon as Trump or his oil and gas sponsors asked him to. He's a wretched, compromised man who has his position because of a feckless media.

2025 was a dark year in many ways. Democracy and accountability are retreating. It was confirmed that the goals of the right are largely racist, bigoted, and focused on power and riches for the few at the expense of everyone else. Grim times.

But Joyce Carol Oates landed a killshot of Musk.

It's always a good day to write to your MP and demand that Postmedia receive no subsidies from our tax dollars. Why are we PAYING to have American conservatives lie to us for their benefit? It's fucking insane that media in this country has degraded this much.

The principle gift that I bought my son for Christmas was all twelve volumes of Urasawa's 20th Century Boys, his favorite mangaka. But now I must find new manga for him. He's read Pluto and Monster. I must find New Manga, because that's what he loves.

I'm no expert, but I know what wasting money looks like.

Also, the Korvac run is one of the most underrated great Avengers stories and What If? 32 is pivotal. It's big, sweeping cosmic stuff before Secret War or Infinity Gauntlet (both of those were just horribly written. Absolute shit).

When I was a kid, the first run of comics that I went out of my way to collect was the incredible Korvac run of the Avengers and the corresponding What If? issue. I was thinking about those comics yesterday and asked Microsoft Copilot about Korvac. It's the first time I have used it.

The confederacy and the south should have been destroyed. The world would be better today if it had.

Vance's racism reminded me of this panel. I forget where it's from. Probably the New 52.

Look at this husky. By one metric, it has been naughty. By a better metric, it is HILARIOUS.

I have never watched much anime (Ghost in the Shell, Ergo Proxy, Pluto), but I saw clips of Serial Experiments Lain and decided to give it a try.

It is amazingly good. Full of silences and very prescient, it's an amazing series. I highly, highly recommend it.

More shows should be this moody.

Whorl is an incredibly moving book. Just devastating. But you had to have appreciated so much proceeding material in order for it to hit.

But it is worth it. Wolfe was a far better writer than Tolkien or Frank Herbert and deserves far more acclaim.

We are never getting another Gene Wolfe.

I didn't need a broken LLM to tell me that Musk is the greatest piss drinker in history--I already knew.

Goddamn, the New York Times sucks. Just a horrible and constantly wrong and shitty equivocating garbage paper.

On the major issues, from invading Iraq, attacking Iran, facilitating mass slaughter in Palestine, etc... they are willing to argue for blatantly immoral and illegal positions.

Another reason to love the run is the art of Ed McGuinness. When I think of Joe Kelly's run, I think of the absolutely amazing artwork.
