Interests include (but are not limited to) cats, food, plants, books, and music. There's a lot of stuff in the world, and much of it is fascinating!
Well, the families of dead soldiers have been complaining bitterly for some time that they're not getting the death benefits they'd been promised, so that trend has been rolling for a while.

I dunno. Ruzzia is very short on manpower, due to counter-productive military habits like "meat waves." That's why they've been hiring naive outsiders from impoverished countries like Nepal, Burundi, Kenya, India, Bangladesh, Yemen, et al, to fill their ranks.

The ship loaded LPG in Sohar, Oman and was sailing to Djibouti to offload. Sohar isn't responsible for inspecting ships that dock legally -- they check paperwork, but they don't start clambering around, tapping the piping.

An LPG load that burns off is *enormously* cleaner than a crude spill.

The gas is going to boil off, yes -- and catch fire and burn off. Which is what it's doing right now. This is a good thing.

MT Falcon is reported as being an LGP tanker, which means it was carrying liquified petroleum gas. Burns like a torch. The only thing to do with a burning LPG tanker is to keep other vessels away from it and let the cargo burn off. Any leakage would turn immediately into vapor at 0 C and above.

Novokuibyshevsk is 560 miles from war zone. Well within Ukraine's reach!
October 27, 2025 at 3:50 PM
~900 miles from the Ukrainian border? UKR missiles can reach that far. Just sayin' . . .

Kids weren't sick? Then why were there all those little tombstones with REALLY REALLY short lifespans in all the cemeteries, before vaccinations became widespread?

Farm workers imprisoned and deported, food assistance and Medicaid slashed, 200,000+ federal workers out of jobs, economic stimulus packages and massive energy projects stopped dead --

Obama worked hard to stop the Second Great Depression in 2008. Vought and TFG are working hard to restart it.

That's a good metaphor and I like it, but I'm afraid it doesn't really apply to the current situation. The economy is on the top of a steep hill and it's starting to slide downward. The speed of descent will pick up sharply as time goes on.

Bessent: "QUIT GETTING SPECIFIC! Life has been one long sweet song since [TFG] was inaugurated, and that's final!"
October 27, 2025 at 2:58 PM
How much was Bessent worth before TFG trundled into office? What was his net worth in 2024?
October 27, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I've done delicate hand-work in the past; I'd like to volunteer to help remove the gold leaf that's been slobbered all over the Oval Office.

Halligan never heard of screen shots?

This will be a learning experience for the poor soul.

She was 13 years old -- the same age as his daughter. He would make her wear a long blond wig while he was on top of her. If she cried, he'd slap her.

Vile.
October 27, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Probably not. God alone knows where they were sent -- and being thrown penniless into an impoverished country (or a highly xenophobic country engaged in civil war, where you look NOTHING like the natives and don't speak the language) is not a situation that's going to be conducive to pet-owning.

Ah yes, Boise, Idaho. A known hot-bed of radical followers of democracy.
October 27, 2025 at 1:55 AM
"Whoopsie!" doesn't quite fit the occasion, does it?

And who was it that was making fun of Governor Newsom for stopping traffic on I-5 because of the live artillery fire OVER THE ROAD? Someone named . . . named . . . something like "Thump," wasn't it? Or was it pronounced more like "Prance"?
October 27, 2025 at 1:52 AM
That is LOVELY! Thank you!
October 27, 2025 at 12:57 AM
It is. It shows an attack on the White House by people who hate America -- they despise that "democracy" stuff, and especially the bit about "all [people] are created equal." They yearn for the Good Ole Dayz when white men were the apex of creation, and are trying hard to re-create that.
October 27, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Ewww, GROSS!

Just like TFG himself. Oversized, vulgar, and disgusting.
October 27, 2025 at 12:47 AM
. . . because people with multi-billions of dollars aren't rich? Or what?

I'm sorry but your assertion doesn't fit reality. Russian oligarchs did have a good-sized chunk of money between them, but American billionaires beat them all hollow. Musko is worth some $500,000,000,000 just by himself.
October 27, 2025 at 12:45 AM
You mean that it has stopped being true? That we're NOT the richest country in the world, with appalling rates of child hunger -- hunger that could be easily fed?

PLEASE assure me that we're no longer ignoring our ill-fed, hungry children and elderly, because I would love for that to be true!
October 27, 2025 at 12:41 AM
We are the richest country in the world, with the worst food on the grocery store shelves. Ultra-processed foods with hidden fats, salt, sugars, and heavy doses of preservatives; food-type items carefully designed and manufactured to create cravings for more -- e.g. "honey mustard crisps"
