Not sure I buy that framing.

Let’s focus on how we actually reduce car trips by fixing land use to start reducing demand for car trips and returning to the widespread affordability we had and that the Silents and Boomers were gifted in 1970 when 3x adult full time wage would get you a house almost everywhere in the USA.

Banks, insurance CO’s & investors love high multipliers! If the median home had stayed at 3x the median adult full time wage like 1970, much more of the paychecks of the working class would have stayed in their pockets and local economies instead of being locked up as paper equity
