The @europarl.europa.eu just voted to ban everyday words like "burger" & "sausage" for plant-based foods. This will only confuse consumers and slow the protein transition.

We urge Member States to reject this senseless move.

Massive thanks to MEP @manuelaripa.bsky.social for standing with us in our call to ban octopus farming and stop the growing threat of carnivorous aquaculture.

Octopuses and oceans are lucky to have you as their advocate 💙

🔎NEW REPORT

Nueva Pescanova's octopus farm could require 2 BN wild-caught fish in the first year alone.

Adding this extra burden to our already overfished oceans will take food from vulnerable coastal communities in places like West Africa, South America & SE Asia.

📈 80% of EU consumers support using terms like veggie burger. So why is the EU trying to ban them?

This would only increase red tape and prevent the shift to sustainable, plant-rich diets.

Yesterday, we joined thousands on the streets of Brussels for the #ClimateMarch 💚

Our message was clear: factory farming fuels the very climate chaos that harms communities, kills farmed animals, and threatens the sustainability of our food systems. It's time to #EndIt!

💡🧑🌾 Sjoerd Miedema is redefining farming in the Netherlands — centering it around animal welfare and climate resilience.

His biodynamic farm keeps calves with their mothers, is 100% antibiotic-free, and creates habitats for birds & pollinators.

This is the future of farming.

If you believe the @ec.europe.eu should listen to the voices of the 1.4 million citizens who demanded a cage ban, please speak up again.

💡🧑🌾 In Austria, Andreas & Thomas Hubmann raise pigs in mobile tents rather than in conventional stalls - boosting animal welfare, soil health & biodiversity.

Farming with compassion and care for nature is possible! The @ec.europa.eu must help make it the norm.

🥩➡️🥦The @ec.europa.eu wants to ban words like “burger,” “sausage,” and “steak” when used on plant-based foods.

But consumers aren’t confused – they just want choice.

Laying hens spend their lives crammed in tiny cages, unable to move freely or express natural behaviours.

With clipped beaks and missing feathers, they only know stress and suffering.

Use your voice to tell the @ec.europa.eu to #EndtheCageAge: action.ciwf.org.uk/page/176344/...

The latest European Environmental Agency report on the state of Europe’s environment is a sobering reminder that agriculture is eroding its own foundations through water pollution, soil degradation, and biodiversity loss.

It's time to listen to science, and rethink the way we produce our food

💡👨🌾 Polish farmer Tomasz Jakiel proves animal welfare, soil regeneration & low-input farming can thrive together in a profitable business.

His animals forage freely year-round, while no-till methods & cover crops boost soil health.

This is the humane, nature-friendly farming the EU should foster!

Last week’s Farmers’ Voices event was so inspiring, that we’ve decided to spotlight some of the animal farmers whose dedication to animal welfare and environmental sustainability are paving the way to a cage-free future. Stay tuned!

6 months since we started our Brittany Ferries campaign, and today we’re gathering our supporters at Portsmouth ferry port urging them to stop cruel live exports.

❌ Customers don’t want to travel with suffering animals.

We’ll continue to write & protest until this cruelty stops 🔗 buff.ly/Zk8ULv7

Almost a year has passed since our investigation into the nightmarish world of intensive rabbit farming.

Since then, little has changed.

This #InternationalRabbitDay, join #OurVoices to urge the @ec.europa.eu to deliver the proposals to #EndtheCageAge.

It’s been 6-months since we first wrote to Brittany Ferries urging them to stop cruel live animal exports. Their response? Silence. 🤐

These animals face stress, hunger & more.

We're campaigning to stop this suffering: buff.ly/Zk8ULv7 #BanLiveExports
Image of a calf with others in the background. Text reads: "In the 6 months since Brittany Ferries resumed live exports 170,000+ unweaned calves have been transported by sea from Ireland to France by Brittany Ferries, Stena Line and Irish Ferries." The image includes a call to action to "Ban Live Exports."

🐑 What a day! Yesterday in Brussels, we co-hosted a farmer–policymaker meetup with @ciwf.eu👨‍🌾

The farmers' stories shared a common thread: love for their animals & duty to the land. It’s time to back nature-friendly farming - not harmful factory farms 💚🌱🐄

The key takeaway? The European Union must step up.

This means modern, comprehensive rules and proper funding to ensure the transition towards regenerative, cage-free farming systems — ones that work for farmers, animals, people, and the planet.

At our joint roundtable Farmers’ Voices: Animal Welfare Success Stories to Inform Fair EU Policy Reform, farmers shared how they are meeting animal welfare needs and sustainability goals, while navigating outdated regulations and economic constraints that fuel business as usual.
