I got a Revolutionary War diary from W N Carolina for that time. Heavy rain, likely relates to that system, so it was probably a tropical storm that made landfall just south of Tybee and went through the western half of S Carolina.

It would be a great thing for somebody new to do that wants to work with logbooks in Washington DC a lot, many logs typed up too. One still needs to be trained on how to work with logbooks, of course though.

Biggest thing to me now. Nobody else has to deal with trying to transcribe that record which was not necessarily easy. I put my original hard copies away but I doubt I'll ever look at them again and could eventually throw them out before retirement.
