Ok pretty proud of this painting I just did. I took a photo of an absolutely alien looking flounder while #diving and then decided to paint it. What a delightfully beautiful and weird ass animal. Its eyeballs are turrets. #art #watercolor #painting #sketching

Been working through creative blocks lately and plein air sessions have been huge for breaking through. Every time I paint outdoors I'm reminded of that peaceful euphoria of turning a view into an abstracted representation of how I perceive it in that moment.

The light was hitting those worn, riveted steel patterns just right. Fun history: the bedrock below was blasted away with 300,000 lbs of explosives in 1885 to clear boat traffic! Love how this massive industrial structure sits so dramatically above the channel.

Finally made it out to paint one of my favorite bridges - the Hell Gate Bridge from Randall's Island 🎨 Rode my ebike over, set up near the bridge foundation and spent 2 hours on this one. Perfect weather for a solo art date!

I've been playing #Mundaun- a super moody + spooky horror #game, and my favorite part about it is that it's not just set in the swiss alps, but the entire game is narrated/voice acted in Romansh, and it's just so cool to hear it. As a Swiss person I'm sad to admit that i'd never heard it before.
