Gale is this chill, laid back biker chick who never really gets upset about anything.

Tien is her opposite, always getting annoyed, but still just as caring as Gale, who naturally she falls for.

When making the character cards, I had to come up with weaknesses for everyone and his jokes making his students groan and facepalm are definitely a weakness for his respect factor. 😂

#QueerPrompts 10/7: National Inner Beauty Day: Does your story address outer vs inner beauty?

Both Nix and Max are insecure about their appearances, but only Max works out to change his. As they discover they're each other's perfect type physically, it goes far beyond that.

As Max says in the end:
“Besides, I know who you are. You’re the sun to my earth and the light I want to open my eyes to every morning for the rest of my life. Even when you’re old and gray and cranky all the time…” He chuckles. “…you’ll always be my soulmate.”

Having grown up around these people, the irony is that it seems like the people who are the most ignorant about what people different from them are really like tend to be the most confident in their (false) beliefs.

I've seen metal nutcrackers before, though I don't think I've ever used one. Yes, yes, I'm spoiled by having my nuts without shells! Though, to be fair, I don't have nuts often and haven't seen nut picks before. I also have had lobster or cracked something open and it sounds kind of disturbing. 😅

It can't.

It's the solution to a world that constantly makes LGBTQIA+ defend our very existence.

Our history is real. Our stories are real. Silencing us won't make us stop existing. It will only spread fear, resentment, and suffering.

ALMOST ALL books, shows, movies, games, art, and music that people are exposed to from birth onward ONLY portray straight cisgender people.

So how could one book getting through this constant lifelong propaganda somehow be a problem?

Without positive portrayals, LGBTQIA+ people will hide out of fear and resent themselves out of shame, others will feel empowered to mistreat us, and everyone will be ignorant of reality, which is DANGEROUS.

Not a single good thing can come from banning LGBTQIA+ portrayals in literature.

LGBTQIA+ people exist. We are present all throughout recorded history. We live in every country, even ones where we'll be put to death if found out.

Banning books won't change this REALITY.

#QueerPrompts October 5: What might someone try to ban your story for having?

A book aimed at teens with two boys in love? That could make the readers gay!

You know, because having every single book only portray straight cisgender people is necessary to prevent someone from turning queer. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Ah, I see! On the baking sheet is definitely doable, but I don't think I've ever owned a single nutcracker that isn't just a nonfunctioning Christmas decoration. 😂
