It’s really hard for a lot of parents, myself included, but let’s try to allow more independent play for our children.

They will not feel neglected or lonely. Instead, their imagination and creativity will be exercised to the extreme!

Had my two-year-old heand banging to the What’s New Scooby-Doo theme song.

Bringing back another generation of kids with pocket chains and spiked frosted tips.

Who’s with me?

As adults, we should strive to remain as curious as our children.

When my son saw an ant scooting across the floor, he took the opportunity to lie on the floor and watch it, up close and personal.

As parents, let’s also remember to show our children the gift of curiosity.

If our children teach us anything, it’s resilience and determination.

Think back to when they began crawling. Remember how much and effort and practice they put into that? Just to be able to crawl!

Dont just ask your kids what they learned at school. Have them show you.

Encourage and emphasize the excitement of learning!

I believe our two-year-old is now entering the “Why?” phase. Been getting it a lot lately.

It doesn’t have to be torturous. Just keep in mind, our children are naturally curious. They want to learn.

Try your best to answer each of their “why’s”. Encourage their curiosity.

I will never stop recommending Tumble Leaf to parents of young children.

The most underrated children’s show of all time!

It’s legitimately one of my favorite shows ever. I would watch it even without our toddler😂

Give it a shot, and let me know what you think!

As a parent, one of the toughest ideas I’ve had to come to terms with (still coming to terms with) is that we’re not trying to help our kids become whoever they want to be.

We’re trying to help them become who they’re supposed to be. It’s already been set in stone.

Toddlers to a T!😂

Watching an episode of Tumble Leaf with our toddler before bed, and Fig, the protagonist, is playing with a leaf.

The whole episode consists of him just playing with a leaf…and it’s awesome.

I could watch this all day.

Let’s teach our kids to make a toy out of anything!

Being a proud parent is much different than being a boastful parent. Think about that next time you post about your kids online.

Within minutes of waking up, my toddler told me, “I want a book to read, Dada.”

I can’t think of a better way to start the day.

I guess I’m not a total parenting failure!

Parents, give this exercise a try!

Write some poetry about your children. Doesn’t matter how profound, or silly, or great, or terrible it is.

You don’t have to share it. Keep it in a notebook. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re reminded of a beautiful moment with them.

Parents,

Show your children the importance of supporting and exploring locally.

Teach them what it means to be a part of a physical community.

In a social media landscape where the majority of parenting content we see is all about “me, me, me” rather than emphasizing the child, Parenting Creatively will never make a post or share anything of that nature.

Parenting Creatively’s values center around helping the child.

If my kids have taught me anything, it’s that a couple sets of pajamas is definitely the move.

Another couple inches of snow today. Nice to look at, inspiring even, but I think I’ve had enough for the time being.

What’s your favorite snow day activity to do with your kiddos?

Idea 💡

“Parental Poetry”

Parents, write more poems about your children.

It doesn’t matter how good, bad, insignificant, or silly they are.

Keep them in a notebook or a journal. Give them a title, and put the date on each one.

They’ll be nice memories to look back on.

Snack time with a toddler is always interesting.

Why use a spoon when you have a perfectly good ice cream scoop nearby?

Pay attention to how much faster time flies when you interact, play, and participate with your children as opposed to sitting around, accepting boredom.

Boredom is great, but consider how you can make the most of it!

So many great ideas strike from boredom!

Step 1: This, year get yourself a @criterion.bsky.social subscription if you don’t already.

Step 2: Show your kids more movies from their selections!

So many great options to choose from!

Currently in love with the idea of just having an abundance of sketchbooks lying around the house for our 2 year old to draw whenever and wherever he wants.

It’s one of my favorite things to watch him do.

And I shamelessly plan to collect and store as many as I can find.
