Think this is unfortunately the really dumb NBA rules. Not only are they out of the tax, they are below the apron so they can aggregate salary’s in trades in a way they couldn’t before. You would think a second move is coming

This is also why the mlb can’t get a salary cap. Too much to worry about

So much of it depends on if the logo looks nice on the jersey. Phillies have a sponsor and it’s pretty harmless because it blends in to the color scheme and is relatively small. Some of the other NBA or MLB teams have not been as nicely done

Yeah. I agree with that in general. I think the problem is that the guys they targeted (Romano and Garcia) are underwhelming. It’s not the value. It’s that they probably aren’t good. Think Dave’s philosophy is good like you said, i just wish he was better at picking in this particular area

Feels like the second straight year (if you include Hoffman) where they would have been better off waiting it out but also we would kill them if they hadn’t signed an outfielder before the end of January. Feels fine from a process standpoint but definitely looks bad

He’s allowed to be foles this week but no more after that. Not sure the world is ready for the levels of insufferable Payton would be after winning the Super Bowl with a backup QB

Sure you wouldn’t trade the surrounding years for anything. Just kinda wild that they’ve lost this type of game before, especially in the middle of a dynasty

Kind of like losing to Nick Foles in the Super Bowl with the greatest QB and coach of all time!

Thinking about McVay and Shanahan losing on back to back nights

Just don’t ask him to block Josh Sweat or Jalyx Hunt

*Guy who has only ever watched one football team*

Eagles beat that ass so bad in the superbowl last year. Was getting owned by a rookie third rounder, leading to an interception

Yeah. Thought it was an INT by the letter of the law but also it’s not if you have a brain.

First one was weak but that was PI

Shades of trying to block Reddick with your back up tight end

This isn’t a novel idea but I think the biggest advantage to how they spend and their roster is insulating their playoff odds even when you injuries or a bullpen catastrophe like previous years.

I don’t think this offer was on the table until Steve cohen got in his feelings about losing Tucker and made an insane offer
January 16, 2026 at 5:18 PM
Yeah. Not inherently anti labor to think it’s bad that the dodgers seemingly get every guy they want, including the best free agent while coming off back to back WS.
