Say Her Name

“Say Her Name!” We cried.
“Say His Name!” We screamed.
“Say Their Name!” We grieved.

Yet, no one did outside of us.

A Woman of EMTs is shot in her home. Her Justice is Tossed.
A group of Skittles were butchered and eaten for pleasure.
A Young Man is hanged while on Trucking Duty. Determined a Suicide.
A Old Woman died still fighting for Justice after her entire town slain.

A Man killed with a Pig’s foot on his neck.

“Say Her Name!!” You ignored.
“Say Her Name!!” You demanded.
“Say Her Name!!” You protested.

A Man was beaten in yet his badged perpetrators acquitted.
A Mother and her Family harassed by her “Perfect Neighbor” before the Mother died by said Neighbor.
An Autistic Kid gunned down in a domestic dispute call.

A Disabled Pregnant Woman executed when reporting a burglary.

“Say Her Name!!!” You co-opt.
“Say Her Name!!!” You colonize.
“Say Her Name!!!” You disregard.

A Woman executed after Complying while Rebuking the Pig scared by Boiling Water.
Several newborns in NICU with bruises and broken bones so soon after birth.

“SAY HER NAME!!!!” You shout.
“SAY HER NAME!!!!” You persecute.
“SAY HER NAME!!!!” You override.

A Woman executed in her car driving away from a frostbitten militia.

Her name appears everywhere,
Visible to every naked eye, young or old.
To express one phrase
of a movement not be used
is accused.
We aren’t overriding an unjustified murder.
We send our condolences.
We pray for the woman’s family.

We ask and affirm this one boundary.
You can’t “Say Her Name” to bring
someone already visible to visibility.
Your co-opting is colonization
of a movement meant to bring
us
out of invisibility to the
Visibility of the World.
We made this as a means to fight for our people,
To get long overdue justice and relevance.

You see now that the country where you reside,
Has never been your perfect view of it.
Your rose-colored glasses ripped off by your perpetrators.
Not us, like how you expecte…
