I don’t actually think that the church has ever erred from what I mean except maaaayyyybe nostra aetate

The problem people make is they start making second, third, or fourth order conclusions from the tradition and claiming those have any weight from the tradition

I think there is some weight we should put to “the church and her saints believed this for 1000 years” though not absolute weight. I do think really the only time it has absolute weight is on the unanimity of the fathers and only to the extent that exists (which is to say extremely limited)
