As a lifelong avid reader I totally agree. When reading Tony grandkids I love seeing their tastes and preferences emerge. Sometimes it all trucks,trains, dinosaurs. Sometimes it’s Captain Underpants. Or Pete the Cat. Or just “look! It stopped raining, let’s go outside!” All is good.

Thinking is usually a very very good plan. Unless there is a fire in the building. Then moving quickly in to near nearest exit is best.
