BUT bc this law has not been officially appealled, it's considered a "zombie law"; which means that it has been invalidated by courts but was never fully repealed, leaving room for it to be revived. Revival is a big possibility in today's political climate.

She was eventually arrested in 1916 and sentenced with a fine and 30 days in jail.
Its kinda scary bc this law is still "on the books". The DOJ released a memo stating that the Act does not prohibit the mailing of abortion medications unless the sender intends them to be used unlawfully.

The article reminded me of Harrison Butker's grad speech at Benedictine College. He focused on women being happy just being homemakers. Why do we keep defining success with these constricted gendered terms? Wouldn't empowerment actually mean having the freedom to choose from any option?

My mom is a product of 2nd-wave feminism, which rejected makeup, pink, & trad fem things to be taken more srsly in a man's world. That said, I was always told NOT to like pink since people call it a girl color and that I should be different. Screw that. Like whatever color u want. Evt is pink now.
