I beg to differ, because I can't help myself. As an optimist, I am compelled to believe in humanity. And no conscious, functional society would ever forget the abject ugliness of this administration. And, that loss of respect for humanity should never be forgotten. A permanent scar on our souls.

This is just the beginning. How bad are we going to let this get? I don't hear nearly enough howling from Dems, or see any teeth in the House or Senate. Bad, bad things are going to happen very soon if we don't get radical response from the Hill. That's where the protests should be, 24/7 on live TV.

Just a thought: If we observe the right to religious freedom, we must separate Church from State. We demand autonomy. We reject the religious right on the simple promise of democracy. Law will become evermore secular, with the ideologies of Freedom and Liberty for all. Authority? Fuck no.

We might all benefit from knowing we are OK, wherever, whenever we are. To feel completely safe, or peacefully fearless. Is it a human need? Then, a human right? To be free to unplug, let go, an hour, a week, etc.
I frequently meditate: "I am safe. I am OK. Breathe."

Do it! But, don't install them adjacent to major intersections. We have a nightmare on our hands at Lamar and Airport here in Austin. Nobody rides the damn thing, and it halts traffic in this very busy city 12 times a day during work hours. Pathetic.

As a barely related aside: I noticed my battery was being consumed by Google Messages. The biggest drain, actually. I could not uninstall it, but disabling it doubled my battery life. Hmm. What's AI doing in my messages?

Guess who has a lot of money and power? The churches. The private Christian schools. Imagine the leverage a church has over a politician. They have to say "God Bless America!" and "The families are in our hearts and prayers." And drone in a dozen other platitudes or be seen as a wicked non-believer.

Wealth is so deeply desired, that we lose all sense of morality and ethics when much stands to be gained. The politicians are enslaved by the donors, the conglomerate giants of finance. Millions are paid out in salaries to politicians for jobs they don't actually do, "honorary" board members.

Most elected officials are shills, employed by the corporations and wealthiest oligarchs on the planet. The most important thing is growth, the second most is profit.
It's a dry sandwich. But, that is the prime motivator of almost every human being, most at the opposite end of the bludgeon.
