Things that are better now than they used to be… it’s a short list, but:
Municipal planting. More Mediterranean, fewer bedding plants.

If you're doing a spring clear out of books your kids have outgrown, do support this charity getting books to children with very few books of their own.
You could even hold a book drive at work.
