As a former “youth in politics” this is great news

There’s nothing radical or new about 16 & 17-year-olds participating in the political process; they pay taxes, they can be parents, they have a disproportionately large stake in the future — they should be able to vote

Other planned changes include expanding voter ID to include bank cards and moving to automatic registration.

A progressive Canada needs to be bold — there’s clearly a lot of frustration with the status quo. To win back the narrative of a country in decline, there needs to be a shake-up, and Mark Carney has a huge opportunity to set that in motion. Start with infrastructure because it’s tangible.

If you want to combat a growing sense that you’re too close to the US, Trump, and MAGA Republicans, you probably shouldn’t be spouting the “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” line, Pierre!

Interesting to watch today’s #BBC newswatch, where they looked at their coverage of #Canada as of late, often incorrectly referring to provinces as “states”, & PM Trudeau as “president”. What they didn’t do is express any willingness to stop it! All they really did was acknowledge people complained.

No pressure, Canada, but like, this #4Nations thing is now about a hell of a lot more than hockey.

Literally a must-win for the sake of national pride

What a the equivalent of “tweet” on @bsky.app? “Post” feels wrong, empty. Can we just have tweet back, since “x” wants to be “x” anyway?

“Paused the tariff for 30 days” is political speak for “oh sh!t I tanked the stock market today, let’s walk this back”
