It should be watched for the opening section alone, which feels at home with 28 Days later. The rest of the film is still a half-decent watch, but feels unrelated to the original.

The latter third had me misty eyed, a genuine emotional journey between a son and his mother and then, as the great Mr Boyle says, "Its horror, returns".
