She just drank some water and went over to investigate her plate of food! Didn’t eat any, but that’s the first independent movement towards eating I’ve seen! Mirataz tomorrow and hopefully a hungry lady.

All her levels are “normal for her” meaning a 19y/o cat with well-managed hyperthyroid, Stage II kidney disease, and arthritis. Even did an ultrasound and pancreas, kidneys, liver all look ”normal”, and no obstructions in intestines.

It was so sudden! i noticed her appetite dropping on Thursday, which isn’t uncommon when shes due for her next Solensia injection, which she got Friday. Then Saturday she wasn’t interested beyond a few bites, and Sunday and Monday she wouldn’t eat anything.

Old lady cat has deigned to eat kitten kibble from my hand, the first non-force-fed food since Monday. No obvious cause on the diagnostics yesterday. And we can’t do more without sedation again, which isn’t ideal for a 19y/o cat.

Winter CSA started this week, and apparently the farm is growing mutant organic crops? This is a 4lb bunch of celery and those leeks are as long as my arm.

Massive bunch of celery, my hand can only go halfway around it.

I get to go teach college kids about earthquakes in an hour, so that's kinda fun. My elderly cat is in the hospital though, so that's kinda shitty.

just as I finally admitted to myself that higher quality/more expensive pasta is actually better and worth the money! Now I’ll have to wait to see if we go back to store brand except when there are sales.
