Leo’s first doorknock. Talking to neighbors about why we’re voting yes for Saint Paul Public Schools. Every child and family in Saint Paul deserves access to quality public education.

Today, Leo and I attended the dedication of the Senator Kari Dziedzic Memorial Bridge. It was one of Leo’s first outings, and there was no better way to mark the moment than by celebrating Kari’s incredible leadership and legacy.

Thank you, Mayor! SPPD has been leading the way. So grateful for their testimony in conference committee. It really helped get this across the finish line.

In 2023, I passed legislation that significantly restricted the use of no-knock warrants in Minnesota. According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s (BCA) most recent report, their use dropped by 78% last year. This is a major victory for public safety and accountability.
Report: Minnesota police executed 78% fewer no-knock warrants in Minnesota last year
The report shows many agencies, including the Hennepin and Ramsey County sheriff’s offices, stopped requesting no-knock warrants in 2024.

Toured the future home of the Latino Economic Development Center at Plaza del Sol on St. Paul’s East Side. Proud to help secure $3.5M in state funding for this vibrant hub for Latino entrepreneurship - featuring a business incubator, event space, commercial kitchen & more!

This weekend, I attended the grand opening of @filmnorth.bsky.social’s stunning new building. I’m proud to have secured a $2M state appropriation to help make this creative hub a reality. Over 1,000 community members came out to celebrate, and the energy in the space was electric.

Ways to honor Melissa & Mark Hortman.
Sophie and Colin shared a list of things people can consider to honor their parents' memories:
Plant a tree.
Visit a local park and make use of their amenities, especially a bike trail.
Pet a dog. A golden retriever is ideal, but any will do.
Tell your loved ones a cheesy dad joke and laugh about it.
Bake something — bread for Mark or a cake for Melissa, and share it with someone.
Try a new hobby and enjoy learning something.
Stand up for what you believe in, especially if that thing is justice and peace.

The North End Community Center is open and it’s beautiful! Rep @athenahollins.bsky.social and I secured $6 million in state bonding for this project. So exciting to see it come to life! Many thanks to the City of Saint Paul and the Parks Conservancy for hosting the grand opening.

I’m proud to be a champion of our public schools. For decades, the legislature has funded these private vouchers at the expense of fully funding our public colleges and universities. And now it’s at the expense of our students with the greatest needs. This has to stop.
