Today is the 40k benchmark. Tablet issues are getting worse, but I think the old girl can sputter through one more week. Looking like 50k is going to cover just past the 1st act climax for this story. =p

Might have to tap out of NaNo this year due to technical difficulties. My tablet battery is quickly spiraling towards final death and Securus is dragging its collective ass on replacements. I'll fight till the end, but I just lost an hour of work. It bodes ill. =(

Maintenance issue has the yard on lockdown. No A Cappella practice, no class to teach, no recreation ... no reason not to throw my jammies back on at 4:30 in the afternoon and go back to writing!

Celebrated my 41st birthday yesterday, and I have a little bit of a junk food + cheesecake hangover.

As of now, my avg words are 1669/day out of a minimum of 1667. A hairsbreadth from falling behind! Keep catching myself in 2nd draft mode, trying to make it nice. 1st drafts are vomit drafts! Just get it out, clean up the mess later!

Teaching new material in my Creative Writing class. Picked up "It was the best of sentences, it was the worst of sentences." by June Casagrande. Loving it, and I think it'll serve my students well. Good guide for an underserved but vital element of writing.

NaNoWriMo is officially gone, but I still love the idea of the 50K/30-day challenge. So, this year, I've decided to get a 2nd success under my belt. Much to the pleasure of my one fangirl, I've decided to write a novella sequel to The Maidens' March.

Trying to figure how to get early draft feedback as an incarcerated author. Very few options here, most bad. But I can't go to workshops, pay anyone, or network worth a damn. What do I do?
