Just popping in to say that if you have days when you feel like you don't know what you're doing, where you feel like an impostor or like you're not the expert your clients say you are, then that's pretty normal.

One word I struggle to spell correctly every single time is tragedy. I want to write tradegy every single time.

I wonder if what's happening with Duolingo right now is them prepping us for a rebrand 🤔

Trends come and go, but a community-driven brand built on integrity and genuine connection will always be in demand.

Last year I told myself I wouldn't be anxious about things I can't control.

This year I'm carrying that over. I always give myself a window to complain and be angry & upset about stuff, but constantly spiraling in despair and anxiety over things outside of my control feels like a dead end for me.

My only complaint about ads is that they don't change. Cause after 6 months why am I still seeing the same ad? 🫠

Diversify. Give me something different every week.

So what if you choose a new niche and it alienates some of the people who currently follow you?

This is a common fear if you rebrand or decide to change your messaging.

One of the best documentaries I've ever watched to date on Netflix was The Social Dilemma.

What has always stuck with me is learning about how social media companies make money off our rage.

One of the best things in the world is having genuine connections with other business owners and knowing if you never buy from them nothing will change.

They're not being nice and talking to you in the hopes you'll become a client one day...

There are a lot of silent buyers online who will lurk and quietly observe you before they make a decision to buy.

Silent buyers stay silent because they don't want to be pressured into a sale.

Sometimes when our content doesn't perform well or our launch doesn't go well we get in our heads and think "Everyone noticed and they probably think I'm lame".

But I promise you that people usually don't notice.

Here's a super helpful design tip for Instagram, LinkedIn and anywhere you create carousels:

When you're making carousels or creating stories & you have a lot to say, break up your ideas into different slides instead of putting alot of text on one slide.

I read an article that said half of all Fortune 500 companies were created during a recession or economic crisis.

That means even when life is life-ing and everything feels crazy, there are still people who dream, hope, and work to make those dreams real.

When I was learning about marketing & websites, there was someone who taught people to add a section at the end of their services or sales page that sounds something like:

"If you don't work with me then this is how you'll continue to suffer and this is everything you'll lose."

It's better to start on your rebrand or website redesign now and have it take you the whole year then to wait for a perfect time only to end this year with a brand and website you don't like.

1 hour a week will get you so far in a year.

The internet might be global, but it still runs on tiny moments of 'oh hey, me too'.

I have a little plea and it's this: please keep posting about things that aren't The Horrors. I am not saying to not look at or be informed about The Horrors. What I am saying—what I am genuinely kind of begging you to do—is keep posting about books and movies and sunsets and pets and joy. Please.

One of my clients had to do this really technical thing on her website for the first time. When I offered to help, she wanted to try it herself.

I was totally fine with that cause I usually teach my clients how to manage their site on their own and make edits with confidence...

I've been rebranding in stages, and one thing I've noticed is that when people rebrand on their own, they usually start with their color palette, logo, and fonts.

But that's actually like painting your nails with a new color without removing the old polish first.

It's funny how our minds work, cause everyone else can post daily and share multiple times a day and we scroll right past without a second thought.

But when it comes to our own content?
January 23, 2025 at 11:57 AM
I genuinely love copy/content that doesn't blame the reader for the fact that they're struggling cause God knows most of us are already our own worst critics and we beat ourselves up alot. Even for things outside of our control.

That's why I'm a sucker for empathy driven copy & content.

Last year, I decided to take Instagram less seriously and stopped feeling pressured to create specific types of content. Let me tell you.. it's made showing up on the platform feel so much easier...
