A historic moment on this day last year: the last ever run of a 507 under its own power on #Merseyrail, as 507029 and 507003 travel ECS from Southport to Birkenhead North depot for decommissioning. Our member Ross McCall captured this video of the units passing through Hightown.

On this day last year: Chris Blackburn's photo captures 507003 and 507029 arriving at Southport. By this time, 507 operations were reduced to a couple of morning and evening peak journeys to and from Southport. 28th November 2024 was the final day of 507s in passenger service.

We are determined to keep 507001 in good condition. With that goal in mind, a small group visited Litchurch Lane on Sunday to carry out testing on various systems, including brakes, speedometers and the passenger alarms.
