Titanic

White Starline

Liverpool
Cunard: Queen Anne info sheet.

I am making a sort of “scrap book” for ships and I started with the Queen Anne as she was the first ship I Photographed with my camera.

The names Olympic and Titanic were inspired by Greek mythology, but Britannic's wasn't.

However, Britannic sank in Aegean Sea, the Sea named after Aegeus The King of Athens in Greek Mythology.

She became a hospital Ship in WW1 but she unfortunately sank in November 21 1916
due to hitting a mine. It was her second round in WW1.
She was originally pulled from service to become a civilian ship, but was once again needed in WW1.....

Britannic was the last of the Olympic class Liners to be built. She was completed in 1915, due to last minute changes and the outbreak of WW1...

But little did they know how famous Titanic would become, therefore the majority of photos and information we have about her comes from the Olympic. This here is the only surviving footage of Titanic. (5/5)

however this wasn’t the case for Titanic, in fact there wasn’t many photos or videos taken of titanic due the fact she was considered “old news” because her sister ship, Olympic, that looked like her was launched a year before and so she was apparently perceived as just another “Olympic” (4/?)
January 24, 2025 at 10:39 PM
when she was launched she was painted a white colour so she’d stand out on pictures. (3/?)

Titanic is part of a class of liners that include the Olympic and Britannic, and they all look similar. Olympic was the first ship in this class (2/?)

These famous Titanic photos are not titanic, let me explain.

But there isn’t a proper reason why they became a thing, some say it’s down to picky eaters, some say a master chef brought the recipe over in the 1960s, but that’s just speculation, it’s hard to pinpoint the rhyme and reason behind them.

UK’s favourite take out food; Salt and pepper chips. Where did they originate from?

Salt and pepper chips originate from Liverpool, China town. In the 1990s Chinese immigrants who had chippys and restaurants, in Liverpool, started serving salt and pepper chips.

However, on Titanic they wore just the navy/black winter uniforms, captain smith pictured here by Father Browne on Titanic. (3/3)

So in the winter they’d wear this darker colour, while in the summer they'd wear the white uniform, here’s captain smith pictured here on the Olympic. When they were transitioning into the summer uniforms they would wear the winter dress with the white hat. (2/3)

The titanic obsession might’ve gotten out of hand, so here’s a little thing I ordered from Hand Embroidery UK, it’s a white star line hat, that the crew on titanic would’ve been wearing, including the captain. This is because this was White Star Lines winter uniform. (1/?)

(2) Titanic had an enclosed promenade deck (image 1), Olympic did not (image 2). Titanic’s A deck was enclosed to make up for the lack of first class promenade on her B Deck.

“Olympic sunk not Titanic” Debunking it

(1) the bridge wings are different. Titanic’s are extended (image 2) Olympic (image 1) is not extended.
