Trump's rationale for sending troops to Democratic cities is like a movie where someone is tortured for information they don't have, and the torturer knows they don't have it, but the torturer keeps asking the questions because that justifies the torture.

They're at the point where they just say anything. Trump says "Portland is a ruin" and Mike Johnson comes off like a contradictory 5-year old when asked why he refuses to swear in the new Dem representative. No one can stop them so they just pantomime the functions of a real government.

Well of course. Everybody would rather hear "the Inhumans lived in the Great Refuge in the Himalayas until it was shattered by the voice of Black Bolt etc..etc.." rather than "My grandmother's people were Longs from Granville County and she married a Pearson from up around Rocky Mount..." YAWN

There's always a lead-up to Trump's illegal activities where toadies repeatedly claim authority he doesn't have. This is their justification and debate. That's why I think he will order troops to multiple cities in one fell swoop, basically Pearl Harbor by an American on Americans.

It was clear in his 1st term that Trump was genuinely surprised he wasn't elected to be Louis XIV, and he resented it. But all those people who kept him from destroying democracy are not around for term 2. Only the vicious and opportunists remain.
