Freelance Enviromentalist. Want to see a ban/end to residential #Airpollution & #Carcinogens that #Woodsmoke creates. UK must have lower PM2.5 levels, less than WHO targets, before 2030. https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4433/11/12/1326

Thirteen children died after falling from windows in six years
& Government plans legislation to stop this in future, great but at the same time fail to take action to stop the estimated 40k early deaths/yr from #Airpollution from residential #Woodsmoke /PM2.5 sources?

www.theguardian.com/environment/... Doctors say;No safe level of PM2.5(can enter the bloodstream/damage organs). #Airpollution ;2nd biggest risk factor for dying after high BP,it doesn't kill immediately, 2 to 3 decades before it impacts health, unless extreme most people don't avoid it till too late

#Airpollution is health harning and has a cost wherever it occurs, rural #woodsmoke will still harm themselves and their neighbours and causse pollution and climate forcing GHG there is no planet B.

If Government is serious about protecting public #Health, they must address #WoodBurning from residential homes. Its an entirely unnecessary source of #Carciniogenic #AirPollution, & where the population spends the majority of their time live, play,go to school..

#Woodsmoke Wood burning in UK homes should be banned due to severe environmental/health impacts. Burning wood releases harmful pollutants like PM2.5, contributing to thousands of premature deaths annually, worsens air quality more than traffic.Wood burning emits more CO₂ per unit of energy than gas.

Apprx 8% UK homes burn wood, on open fires & wood-burning stoves. The government est that around 1.5m UK homes have wood-burning stoves. Given that there are about 28 million households in the UK, suggests approx 5.4% (1.5m) of UK homes are responsible for the #Woodsmoke PM2.5 they produce
