This afternoon, I finished the book. Oh, I loved it, and truly recommend it, if you love dogs, or poetry, or especially if you love both. This one was beautiful.

Aigh! Alert alert! One of my favorite poets, Billy Collins, has begun this poem with a reference to a line from one of my other favorite poets, Mary Oliver! I am in heaven.

About to start reading one of my favorite Christmas gifts, Dog Show, the new collection of poems by Billy Collin’s. I’ve been so excited for months, waiting for this to come out! Been a rough year, looking forward to Collins’ writing to buoy my spirits.

I love that @pattymo.com referenced Halloween is Grinch Night on this week’s episode of @whatatimepod.bsky.social !
We showed it to our son this past Halloween. I hadn’t seen it since high school. I’d remembered it was surreal but had forgotten how wildly weird. Grinch brows played a big part!

Here’s our Nami, in front of the Christmas tree, patiently awaiting dinner time last night. She visited the groomer earlier in the day, hence the jaunty Santa neckerchief!

Next up, playing & making the season perfect, is The Magic of Christmas by Nat King Cole & Ella Fitzgerald. So good, oh my lord so good!
December 14, 2025 at 8:32 PM
And of course, one of the best Christmas albums ever recorded, John Denver & The Muppets, A Christmas Together!

Next up of course, is A Charlie Brown Christmas, because Christmas just ain’t Christmas without the Vince Guaraldi Trio

In need of rescue, Nat King Cole, please buoy these spirits again.
What a voice, my goodness. Nothing makes me feel more safe and remember childhood Christmases than Nat King Cole. The best to ever do it.

Next up, Johnny Cash. A record from my Dad’s collection. I think most likely my first introduction as a young child that music could break your heart and make you feel good all the same time. “Ringing the Bells for Jim” is such a devastating and touching song.

I can’t think of Carville without thinking of Bill Hader’s impression of him.

Not sure, but I can state definitively it was *not* the Grinch.
