Mug rug/ Needle minder for hand sewing peojects

Proof of concept: big stitch hand quilting

Used:
quilters dream 80/20 batting
DMC size 8 thread in cream
Small embroidery needle

Used a leftover nine patch from a previous quilt.

Love the way the back looks like a star.

Fall leaves project finally finished! Need to get better at cutting!

Finished some throws for my niece and nephew. Love the 9 patch and big star.

Finally got around to using my boundless blue belle charm squares. Just gotta use the rest of the half square triangles to fill in the rest.

Few more blocks done.

For some reason, my blocks are short by 1/8th of an inch. Supposed to be 10.5x12.5

My assumption right now is that my seams are a little bigger than a 1/4th an inch.

Put a seam guide on my singer 201 to see if that help.

Any advice is appreciated.

Finished a new quilt top. It's pretty basic but i like the color combo.

It's 80 x 90 so it's pretty big. Planning on getting quilted by a longarmer.

On to the next quilt project!
Fall leaves by Cluck Cluck Sew.

Got the first two blocks done. First time doing a pieced quilt block!

All done! Love how this came out.

Lessons learned:
. Pay close attention to how you sew your rows, sewed the last grouping of 4 upside down so the diagonal pattern is broken
. Rag quilts shed. A lot! Especially when snipping the seams
. Next time, I am NOT using 4in squares

New project in the works!

Wanted to make a Halloween rag quilt to get into the spooky mood. Loving the color and the repeat

Decided to skip the batting since im hot natured and prefer thinner blankets.

Can't wait to get this all finished!

Finished my first garment project on my 401. Not perfect but im happy

Lessons learned:
Knit fabrics requires a lot more pinning.

Dont sew the back panel to the front upside down. Lol

I prefer pdf patterns over traditional patterns.

Learning how to baste fabric with my sewing machine.

First project on the Singer 201-2. Handel like a dream. The only struggle i ran into was adding the binding on the seams, but going up to a size 16 needed helped. Pattern is the Reporter Bag by Kandou Patterns.

Picked up a vintage Singer 201-2, and I’m *so* excited! After fixing a few things I’ve already started sewing and it's sewn through everything I've thrown at it! It's going to make a great companion to my 401a. Can’t wait to dive into more projects with this beast.

I'm so excited! Got a vintage Singer 401A! It is so much more powerful than my grandmother's euro pro sewing machine. #sewing

Made myself a waxed canvas backpack! Pattern is Making Backpack by Noodlehead. Totally messed up and cut a hole on the corner, but i patched it up. Kinda digging the patchwork look. #sewing
