And since I'm opening this can of worms, (though I think Melissa McCarthy is an icon) a queer person should have played Ursula in the live action remake too.
Gay roles should be played by queer actors. Sorry not sorry. (Obviously I don't support the harassment and clearly there are exceptions like child roles.)
