Fled the sinking Tweet ship for bluer skies.
But if we’re limiting it to just states, yeah Washington is amazing, Oregon, California, Colorado, NY, and DC in my opinion. And Hawaii.

I’ve always liked Ellensburg better than Pullman. Pullman has too many hills and awful infrastructure. Ellensburg is flat and at least close to civilization.

Why is the “to” in “easy to take” an apostrophe? What legal loophole is that for?

1858 town cryer running around downtown London yelling “Queen Victoria just looked at a map of the Americas and asked her royal advisor which one is South America?” Followed by a different cryer yelling “Queen Victoria just said all the nations pigs should be butchered to reduce pork belly prices.”

Three for one? How can that be profitable for frito-lay?

I think about Bear down for midterms/ fat dog for midterms about every 3 days.

I asked my PT how many muscles we have and she said something like “600 but if you’re counting organs and sections of muscles it’s a lot more.” And I said “that’s too many muscles.”

This Sherlock Holmes reboot will either run for 8 seasons or be cancelled in weeks.

“The drawing was exactly like the body! Details only the killer could know!”

Two paragraphs later

“The photos were all published and widely seen for a decade before the drawing was made.”

Oh ok.

That’s a terrible movie I still love anyway. Also a movie stuffed to the gills with guys you love to see.

First they invented new ice cream, then they invented new mustard. What will those kooky astronauts cook up next?
December 21, 2025 at 7:23 AM
Nate, I’m really disappointed that this thread was not in fact actually about mustards. I was hoping to get some new mustard recs. AI has once again made my life and the world at large slightly worse.

My Instagram keeps suggesting accounts called like hypewealth, where they’ll play clips from like White Collar or something and pretend it’s a great life lesson on how to make a sale. No man, it’s a tv show, it’s not real.

Agreed. Buses, bikes, anything on rails would be vastly better than everyone texting and flying as they’re late to work. I’ve seen how people drive, I don’t want them flying.
December 19, 2025 at 7:13 AM
Do you think flying cars will ever be a viable and widely used method of transportation? I’m very skeptical they’ll ever be able to get around problems like wind, gravity, and stupid people.

It was amazing!

*crag faced old sailor with a thick Maine accent*

“No no, you can’t sail in those currents over yonder. Those are the drug routes. They’re too treacherous for the likes of you. Only a half mad sailor would choose those routes.”
December 16, 2025 at 10:25 PM
The older I get the more I think driving should be vastly more regulated and harder to get a license for.

70 years ago there were some baseline assumptions about the level of responsibility and ownership of your actions a car driver is going to have. That’s largely gone now, to our detriment.

I’m choosing to read “Please think before spouting off” in Jesse Gemstones voice.

For a long time I tried to read only the classics (a ton of Hemingway at the time), I liked a lot of it, but I rarely read. Since then I’ve started reading more SF/F or historical fiction/non fiction that I’m actually interested in and I’ve felt like a much better and more informed person.

In Dredge it was an intentional limit and made you have to plan. And as someone who also hates weight/inventory limits I loved Dredge.

But in any open world RPG I should be able to carry 400 wheels of cheese and 200 bottles of mead without issue.

I have a sincere question, not at all shit talking NY. Is NY a big espresso town? I went there for the first time and every place I tried to get my usual coffee, an iced americano, they made the worst coffee flavored water I’ve ever had. Meanwhile, LA had great coffee every time.

I took an acting class my senior year because I had elective credits I needed to use. And look at me now, I’m world famous actor Hugh Jackman! But really, it was just a fun time doing a fun thing I wouldn’t normally have done and helped me to better appreciate tv and film. Worth it.

Why stop at a gym. Let’s just turn airports into miniature cities. A layover in Chicago is the perfect time to get your teeth cleaned at the dentist.
