Just wanted to say I thought this was a great (informative and fun to read) review. I haven’t played a Madden in over a decade but this sounds like it might be the one to change that.

I feel like owning the original doesn’t mean I’m owed a discount on “new” versions. I paid for the game I got. If the update adds value, I’ll decide. Same as books—buying a hardback doesn’t entitle me to the paperback with extras or an audiobook. It’s just a new product.

I only got into this series with my switch and now probably my favourite game series (will happily replay all when switch 2 upgrade arrives). But I have SO struggled with X, for some reason I just keep bouncing off it - maybe it’s just not having as strong a narrative thread to pull you through.

I am holding out for a bit before returning in the hope of a Switch 2 ‘ultimate edition’ as an excuse to play through all of it again and then tackle this.

I really hope we get a 3rd party direct before launch showing more of all these games getting a creator video (in a finished state)

Is it now realistic to play on tv just using joy cons (now they are bigger and better suited to bigger hands) or in reality will we still need pro controller?

Is there a noticeable drop in visuals when choosing the 120fps version of Metroid?
