Bruno De Conti of @positivemoneyuk.bsky.social led the push for the topic to be included in the recommendations to the G20.

De Conti said the current system was holding back countries from investing in renewable energy.

The T20 agreed on a communique that includes a call to reduce the dependence of the “international financial architecture” (IFA) on “one single currency”, which it said left countries in the global south exposed to external shocks and debt crises.

With over 1,600 fossil fuel lobbyists present (per @globalwitness.org), #COP30 failed to deliver meaningful progress on climate goals. It wasn’t just about protecting fossil fuel interests, but also about marginalising Indigenous voices.
